Repairing Damaged Photos with Colour Cast

This old portrait has obtained a colour cast over the years and has faded. There are also crease marks from where the picture has been folded and other minor damage. This picture was scanned from the original and then worked on.

Firstly all of the small blemishes and specs on the picture were removed to clean it up a little. Then the red damage marks were removed from the left hand side of the picture.

Next the crease marks were repaired. The fold lines were blended in with the background to make the image seamless.

Contrast, brightness and colour were then adjusted to remove the colour cast and normalise the colours.
